TMJ Diagnosis and Treatment: Including Migraine and Chiropractic

Course overview

TMJ and headaches can be challenging to treat for the even the most experienced practitioner. This course focuses on Phase I treatment, including a review of muscles and trigger point patterns, accessing the patient as a whole including posture, airway, imaging of the joint, why the patient has clicking/ popping, parafunctional activity and the nervous system, which splint to choose, current physical modalities that can be done in your office, non-narcotic treatment and supplementation. This course will help you better understand internal joint problems, when to use a deprogrammer versus full occlusal treatment device, bite registrations, and follow up appointments. We will also discuss when and how chiropractic care may be beneficial in certain cases.
