Learn moreCourse overview
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the most extensively researched approaches in mental health practice yet many clinicians trained in CBT report a gap between knowing the model and applying it with precision in the treatment room. Understanding how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physiological responses interact, and how to translate that understanding into accurate assessment, individualized case conceptualization, and effective treatment planning, is what separates mechanical CBT application from genuinely effective CBT practice. This 6-hour training covers the theoretical foundations and evidence base of CBT, including its history, evolution, and scope of practice. Learn the core CBT model the reciprocal relationship between automatic thoughts, core beliefs, schemas, and physiological responses and how to apply it directly to clinical assessment and diagnosis. Develop individualized case conceptualizations that move from specific client situations to a generalized understanding of maintaining factors, assumptions, and core beliefs. Explore the core components of CBT practice: collaborative empiricism, structured sessions, goal setting, and between-session homework. Designed for licensed mental health professionals who want a rigorous, clinically precise framework for CBT assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment planning they can apply immediately in practice.
