Course overview

Comprehensive low vision care extends beyond managing vision loss alone. Effective care is best delivered through interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP), bringing together multiple specialties to address the complex needs of blind and visually impaired patients. Through IPCP, teams can support education, employment, mobility, driving, transportation, mental health, finances, housing, daily living skills, social engagement, and ocular and general health. Case examples, interprofessional discussion, and input from the blind community will illustrate how collaboration improves outcomes.
