Course overview

When a patient presents with optic nerve head edema or pallor, our first instinct is to protect the visual function, but how do we navigate the several differentials? In this lecture, we will present patient cases ranging from the most acute optic nerve disease to the chronic end-stage atrophy, and will discuss differential diagnoses, systemic considerations, and management strategies. By recognizing clinical signs and symptoms, and ordering the proper testing, a clear treatment path will give us the best chance to preserve vision in these patients.
