Reproductive Health Transitions | Fertility to Menopause

Course overview

This learning activity explores the female reproductive lifespan from the fertile years through postmenopause, examining the hormonal physiology, clinical assessment, and evidence-based management strategies relevant to each transition. Drawing on current guidelines from ACOG, NAMS, CDC, and the USPSTF, the activity addresses key topics including menstrual cycle assessment, PCOS, fertility counseling, perimenopause staging, menopausal hormone therapy, and long-term prevention of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and cognitive decline. Special attention is given to health equity, racial disparities in symptom experience, and the nurse's role in whole-person, individualized care across each phase of reproductive aging.
