Course overview

Anticoagulant, Antiplatelet & Thrombolytic Medications is a continuing education course for nurses wanting information about recently approved FDA oral anticoagulants commonly utilized in the prevention and management of a number of medical conditions including cardiovascular disease, cardiac dysrhythmias (atrial fibrillation), acute arterial occlusion, peripheral arterial disease, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and ischemic stroke. As ongoing clinical research trials continue studying newly developed anticoagulant, antiplatelet and thrombolytic medications for enhanced therapeutic effects and reduced risks for adverse events in patients, nurses will need to become knowledgeable about these medications.
