Dr. Jeba Chelladurai will discuss the feline ABCB1 1930_1931del TC variant, a key loss-of-function mutation that can cause neurotoxicity following exposure to certain antiparasitic and other commonly used drugs. Dr. Chelladurai will review the MDR1 essentials, including how this 2-base pair deletion may place cats carrying 2 copies of the variant at high risk, and share new data from the largest screening study to date of 12,000 US domestic cats.
