Course overview

This course describes the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer?s disease and how it affects the individual as well as friends and family. Using the story of a mother and son, this course gives a personal perspective on this very personal disease. Included is a brief discussion of memory tools that can be effective in helping people with memory loss accomplish day-to-day activities. After completing this lesson, the student will be able to: demonstrate a basic knowledge of Alzheimer's and how it affects the brain; utilize memory-building tools; recognize signs of serious memory problems; identify problems that can cause memory loss.
