WORKPLACE HAZARDS AND SAFETY

Course overview

In this 1 hour course you will learn about common emergencies and how to handle them, how to help create a safe, comforting environment, how to keep it free from hazards. You will also get an introduction to OSHA standards and their role in your workplace. After completing this lesson, the student will be able to: recognize environmental issues that impact the client and create or modify the environment to meet the client?s needs; understand the hazards of the PCA job; realize the role of OSHA in workplace safety; safely handle hazardous substances; identify ergonomics in the workplace; handle fire emergencies; avoid and respond to home hazards; avoid lifting hazards; recognize the risk of falls and how to avoid them; and employ OSHA safety standards.
