Course overview

In this 1 hour course you will learn about choking and falls - 2 of the most common emergency situations that occur with elderly clientele. Choking and falls are two of the most common emergency situations with an elderly clientele. Being that you will deal with them more frequently than any other first aid situation, knowing how to react and assist will equip you with the tools to be there and help. Responding quickly and appropriately is the hallmark of a caregiving professional. After completing this lesson, the student will be able to: identify a choking client and respond properly; understand how the abdominal thrust technique is applied; prevent falls and respond to falls properly.
