Course overview

This 1 hour course covers using ?People First? language, avoiding labels when working with individuals with developmental disabilities, the criteria that must be met in order to be eligible for services, and a list of resources available to gather more information regarding developmental disabilities. The learner completing this course will understand the value of focusing on the individual and their abilities first as well as how to avoid common traps of assumptions and labels. The learner will also understand how to find appropriate resources for clients.
