Course overview

This 1 hour course covers how to safely lift and transfer clients. It is important to use the proper technique for safely moving or transferring a resident at all times. After completing this lesson, the student will be able to: understand body mechanics and structure; Explain the importance of lifting with the legs; safely perform a transfer and lift; utilize the five keys to assisting a resident safely; properly use lifting equipment; perform a patient transfer; position a bed using good body mechanics.
