Course overview

There are many ways to work with the elderly afflicted with Dementia. It is important to learn many different approaches as different methods can be utilized at different times for different people. This course will cover a collection of tactics caregivers can use to offer optimum care to those with whom they work. In this course, we will cover methods such as activity design to fit an individual's needs, Gentlecare, Validation Therapy, and how an environment can effect the well being of those with Dementia. People, physical space, and programs can all be catered to a person to provide them with the greatest comfort enabling them to maximize their life. Also addressed are the Wellness approach, Three Keys to Successful Care, and the Best Friends Approach, Assessment, and Philosophy.
