This 1 hour introductory course prepares the learner to understand and begin providing caregiving services to children and their families. Respecting and understanding the family dynamic is important in providing care in this setting. Through this course, you will have the skills and understanding necessary to be an integral part of the care team. Caregivers working with children need to understand basic care for infants and children, as well as developmental tasks, ranges of normal behaviors, and how to support parents in their care. After this lesson, you will know: the different stages of development children go through and how to support them; how to care for children at different stages of their development; how to best help families through your role as a home caregiver.
