Course overview

This presentation describes the influence of the sympathetic nervous system on the musculoskeletal system, specifically as it relates to conditions treated by Physical and Occupational Therapists. The anatomy and physiology of the SNS is briefly reviewed. Factors that facilitate SNS tone are reviewed and guidelines to minimize SNS facilitation in patients are discussed.
