This is an On-Demand webcast in Molecular Diagnostics and offers 1 continuing education (CME/CMLE) credit, that can be used to fulfill MOC Part II and CMP requirements. Next-generation sequencing has transformed the diagnosis of inherited disorders. With the benefits of this complex technology come challenges for the laboratorian: test validation, storage and protection of data, analysis and reporting of data, and integration of test results into the patient¿s treatment. This presentation will give a broad overview of these areas from the perspective of a laboratorian, with special focus on oncology and microbiology currently implementing testing on a clinical next generation platform.
