Course overview
Course Objectives: 1. Identify personal care duties that would be expected of a CNA. 2. Explore ways to appropriately care for a patient¿s skin. 3. Learn about appropriate nail care for the patient. 4. Define peri-care, also known as perineal care, and how peri-care differs with female versus male patients. 5. List ways to help the patient maintain oral hygiene. 6. Identify what goes into shaving a patient or resident. 7. Understand your role with regard to hair care. 8. Indicate ways to properly bathe patients in various conditions such as being bed-bound or semi-mobile. 9. Discuss the importance of dressing the patient and appropriate language to use during this process. 10. Understand different methods of toileting.
