UNDERSTANDING THE BASICS OF DIABETES

Course overview

During this course, we will discuss ways to assist diabetic clients in staying healthy by following their health management plan, knowing appropriate lifestyle decisions appropriate for diabetics and avoiding complications secondary to diabetes. By the end of this course, you should be able to discuss the prevalence of diabetes; explain complications of diabetes; explain normal blood sugar ranges and signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia; explain how to assist a diabetic clients in creating a healthy meal plan; and explain appropriate foot, mouth, and skin care for diabetic clients.
