Course overview
During this course, we will discuss emergency preparedness strategies of healthcare professional?s obligation to activate an emergency preparedness plan during emergency and natural disaster situations; secure safe shelter or housing for healthcare clients; continue healthcare delivery under emergency conditions; and minimize a client?s healthcare complications and exposure to dangerous conditions. By the end of this course, you should be able to identify documentation needed in client?s home in the event of an emergency situation; explain healthcare agency?s emergency policy; identify steps to prepare client for emergency situation, or natural disaster; and explain the purpose of a special needs shelter and identify clients that qualify for evacuation to these shelters.
