Course overview

Professionals in the helping professions constantly work to care for those affected by traumatic experiences. Providing compassionate care involves listening, observing and dealing with the often painful experiences of others. As a result, the most caring and professional individual may be at risk for both physical and emotional fatigue. This course provides participants with increased awareness and understanding into the nature of compassion fatigue including symptoms and actions we can take to protect and heal ourselves. Amy also discusses the critical role of self care and building resilience.
