Course overview

Bullying behavior in the healthcare field is a real problem. Healthcare professionals are often in the front lines of experiencing aggressive behavior not only from patients and patient's families but from co workers and employers. The aftermath of bullying behavior can leave one feeling isolated, questioning one's sense of self worth and deeply depressed. This course will provide participants with an understanding of what aggressive behavior in the healthcare setting is and how prevalent it is. This course arms clinicians with knowledge about the causes and effects of aggressive behavior. It examines what can be done to intervene with the targeted individual as well as the person engaged in aggressive behavior. Participants will gain valuable insight on what can be done on an individual and organizational level to reduce and better manage bullying behavior in the healthcare workplace.
