Course overview

This course includes essential information for nurses that work in various health care environments, including long term care, home health and acute care. Besides teaching procedures associated with indwelling urinary catheters, this course also contains information about urinalysis, urine cultures and prevention of urinary tract infection. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: State at least 3 symptoms of urinary tract infection. List 3 items to include in documentation following indwelling urinary catheter irrigation. Identify the most effective way to prevent catheter associated urinary tract infection.
