Course overview

In this course you will understand how reducing falls is becoming a global priority, both for overstrained health care systems and for elders and their families and how you use techniques to mitigate the liability risk for caregivers who are entrusted with the safety of the individuals in their care. Every 15 seconds an older adult falls and becomes injured. In fact, falls are the number one cause of both fatal and non-fatal injuries in people age 65 and over. In this course you will learn: the common cause of falls in the elderly, risk factors, and how to prevent falls through intervention strategies.
