Course overview

Yoga Therapy is a set of powerful tools for rehab professionals to directly access motor programming software in order to address the complexities of pain and movement, complementing a biomechanical approach. Yoga Therapy differs from the biomedical approach in that it looks at the whole picture/context of disease of dysfunction and how all aspects of the persons body/mind and lifestyle play into it. Yoga's approach is much more interrelational. This course is designed to educate the therapist in the foundational guidelines for integration of yoga therapy into their practice. At the completion of the course, participants will gain knowledge of basic Therapeutic Yoga principles and how to integrate them with traditional medicine. Therapists will be shown how to differentiate between four models of healing upon which yoga therapy is based and learn to identify and implement the components for an integrative therapy session.
