Recent research has lead to major developments in our understanding of adolescent substance abuse. This Course addresses the distinct nature of adolescent substance abuse and treatment. Participants will explore the fundamental aspects of substance abuse during these critical years. Additionally, Participants will understand why people are most likely to begin abusing substances during this time period. Participants will also learn how the appropriate intensity and length of treatment for these disorders is determined. Lastly, Participants will be exposed to the various effective treatment approaches for adolescents.
