Course overview
Culturally competent (CC) care of Black patients who are using CAM (e.g., vitamins, herbs, diet supplements, massage therapy, chiropractic services, aroma therapy, acupuncture, meditation, yoga, prayer/spiritual healing) is holistic and incorporates appropriate cultural beliefs, attitudes, and traditions when planning and providing care. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of providing CC to black patients using CAM, including the importance of CC care, cultural factors that impact Black patients¿ use of CAM, and key aspects of CC care for Black patients who use CAM. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
