ACCOUNTABILITY IN NURSING PRACTICE

Course overview

Accountability in nursing practice is difficult to define. Although the terms ¿accountability¿ and ¿responsibility¿ are often used interchangeably, they are not synonyms; one way to understand the difference is to recognize that an individual is responsible for something and accountable to something. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of accountability in nursing practice, including clarification of the term accountability, how accountability in nursing practice can be viewed, and the relationship between accountability and job satisfaction. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
