In the early 2000s, the emerging patient safety movement began to focus on hospital culture as a factor that affects medical errors.This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of adverse healthcare events related to disruptive behavior including the historical significance of disruptive behavior in health care, the impact of disruptive behavior on patient safety, and potential solutions to create change in a disruptive or intimidating healthcare environment.
