Course overview

Assertiveness is a communication skill that can be defined as giving expression to your thoughts, rights, or feelings in a clear, direct, honest, and calm manner that respects the rights and beliefs of others. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of assertiveness as a communication style, including the benefits of assertive behavior by nurse clinicians. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
