BUDGETING PRINCIPLES

Course overview

Nurse leaders and managers are increasingly expected to have expertise in financial management, be involved in developing a flexible budget, and participate in fiscal planning. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of budgeting principles, including the accounting methods used in healthcare, financial skills that nurse managers and nurse leaders should possess, as well as budgeting principles to follow when developing a budget. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
