Course overview
Lung disease in the pediatric patient can be acute and episodic or chronic. Common lung diseases among the pediatric population include pneumonia, bronchiolitis, asthma, and pertussis while less common lung diseases among children include acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute lung injury (ALI), and cystic fibrosis (CF). This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of case management of the pediatric patient with lung disease including information on various pediatric lung conditions, the importance of public education on disease prevention, and characteristics of successful pediatric case managers. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
