Course overview
A nebulizer is a device used to atomize liquid drug formulations or liquid saline into aerosol mist containing the medication and to deliver medication to the tracheobronchial airway during inhalation. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of nebulizer treatment, including why a nebulizer may be used, how to use the device, and the desired outcome of nebulizer use, and to aid in caring for the patient requiring delivery of medications or treatments by nebulizer. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
