MAGNET HOSPITALS: PATIENT OUTCOMES

Course overview

Magnet hospitals are hospitals that reliably recruit and retain professional nursing staff and provide excellent nursing care. Although the Magnet Recognition Program initially focused on structure and processes, the new Magnet Recognition Program focuses on outcome measurements. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of magnet hospital patient outcomes including an explanation of the term magnet hospital, expectations regarding patient outcomes at magnet hospitals, and information on measuring outcomes. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
