Course overview

Nursing productivity is a complex and multi-faceted concept that can be operationalized and measured in a variety of ways depending upon the needs and acuity of patients in different nursing practice areas and upon the level of nursing practice and unique role of the nurse; there is no one set definition of what constitutes nursing productivity or how it should be measured. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of measuring nursing productivity, including difficulties in measuring nursing productivity and nursing productivity targets. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
