Course overview
Nursing turnover costs refer to the tangible and intangible costs incurred by a healthcare organization (HCO) when having to replace a nurse, either because the nurse leaves the HCO entirely (i.e., external turnover) or because the nurse assumes a new position within the HCO (i.e., internal turnover). This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of nursing turnover costs, including the types of costs that HCOs can incur and a method for calculating potential nursing turnover costs. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
