Course overview
Live organ donation is the surgical removal of an organ, most often a kidney, from one individual (a donor) so that another patient (a transplant recipient) with a severely diseased or failing organ may receive the organ through transplantation. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the procedure for providing parent/family education about living organ donation in childhood, including a step-by-step process and the benefits of parent/family education. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
