Course overview

Creating a preceptorship program refers to the actions taken to create a program in which a preceptor and a novice nurse are paired in a formal, short-term teaching and support relationship designed to facilitate the novice nurse¿s transition from a student role to a professional nursing role. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of creating a preceptorship program, including the purpose of the program and potential benefits to the novice nurse. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
