RETENTION OF NURSES: STRATEGIES

Course overview

There is a global nursing shortage that affects the ability of healthcare organizations to recruit and retain qualified nurses. Nurse managers, in collaboration with administrators and human resource professionals, have a primary responsibility to create a work environment that promotes retention. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of strategies to retain nurses, including key retention factors, demographic information, and outcome data to aid in retaining nurses. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
