Course overview

Skin assessment is the examination and recording of the condition of a patient¿s skin. This includes examination of all areas of the skin for injury, abnormal growths, inflammation or allergy, and indicators of systemic disease. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of how to perform a skin assessment including the steps required to complete the procedure, the desired outcome of the assessment, and why performing a skin assessment is important. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
