Course overview

Obtaining a urine specimen for laboratory testing from a pediatric patient involves the collection of a small volume of urine (~ 50 mL) for laboratory analysis. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of urine specimen collection in pediatric patients, including indications for the procedure and how to maintain aseptic technique. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
