Course overview

The Valsalva Maneuver (VM) is one of several physical maneuvers (commonly called vagal maneuvers) which are intended to activate the parasympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system, the branch of the nervous system that innervates and regulates the vascular smooth muscle. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the VM. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
