Course overview
Postural vital signs (PVS; also known as orthostatic vital signs) are a series of indirect noninvasive measurements taken to reflect changes in postural tone by recording how the body adjusts to the patient¿s changes in position (e.g., supine to upright [sitting and/or standing]). This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of measuring postural vital signs, including patient positioning, timing between measurements, and maintaining patient safety. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
