Course overview
Live organ donation (commonly known as living organ donation) is the surgical removal of an organ, most often a kidney, from a healthy individual (referred to as the donor) so that another patient (referred to as the transplant recipient) with a severely diseased or failing organ through transplantation. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the procedure for providing parent education about discharge instructions after living organ donation among children, including a step-by-step process and the benefits of discharge instructions on this topic. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
