UNDERSTANDING ELDER ABUSE

Course overview

During this course, we will talk about ways to understand elder abuse and risk factors. We will also talk about ways to identify characteristics of abuse and identify abusers. Finally, we will talk about how and where to report elder abuse, and identify prevention strategies. By the end of this course, you should be able to define elder abuse; identify risk factors of seniors susceptible to elder abuse; identify potential abusers of the elderly; discuss warning signs of elder abuse; identify measures to prevent elder abuse; and identify where to report elder abuse.
