UNDERSTANDING DEATH AND DYING

Course overview

During this course, we will discuss the process of death and dying; the client?s rights and healthcare options; how to care for a dying client; and the grieving process as it applies to families and caregivers. By the end of this course, you should be able to define the meaning of an advanced directive; explain the Dying Client?s Bill of Rights; define anticipatory grief; describe Kubler-Ross? 5 Stages of Grief; explain the signs and symptoms of pain; and explain comfort measures for the dying client.
