Course overview
Providing culturally competent (CC) end-of-life care to Filipino patients is holistic and incorporates cultural beliefs, attitudes, and traditions in the planning and provision of care. This is based on information from patient/family interviews, completed written questionnaires, if available, and facility protocols specific to CC care of the Filipino patient. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of providing CC end-of-life care to Filipino patients including the importance of CC care at the end of life, cultural factors that impact Filipino patients¿ end-of-life choices and care, and specific CC interventions that are appropriate for Filipino patients at the end of life. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
