In this presentation, participants will explore the use (and misuse) of pharmacological intervention in the care of residents with dementia and/or delirium based behaviors - AS WELL AS the importance of attempting behavioral (non-drug) interventions. During this presentation, participants will: Understand F-tag 329, specifically related to psychotropic medication. Identify strategies for evaluating F-329 survey compliance Understand the importance of root cause analysis in the behavior management process. Explore Behavioral (non-drug) alternatives to pharmacological intervention in the management of challenging behaviors.
