Course overview

Change is a necessary component of nursing leadership to promote organizational progress and to appropriately restructure healthcare delivery systems. The changing climate of healthcare delivery systems creates opportunities for nurses with visionary thinking to transition to a leadership role. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of nursing leadership transition challenges and strategies, including examples of various nursing leadership role transitions, the importance of change in nursing leadership, challenges to change in nursing leadership roles, as well as strategies to support transition. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
