EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN NURSING PRACTICE

Course overview

Although various models of EI differ in their definition of EI, EI can be broadly defined as the ability to identify, express, and evaluate emotions and to instinctively self-regulate emotions. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of EI in nursing practice, including information on models of EI, the relationship between EI and workplace outcomes, and negative associations between the level of EI and burnout. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
