Course overview

Skill mix, a term that is specific to the profession of nursing, is used to denote the types of licensure, skill level, education, experience, competency, professional development, and certification that are required for a particular job or for providing care at a particular site of patient care. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of nursing skill mix, including the factors that affect skill mix, along with organizational and individual duties to maintain an appropriate skill mix. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
